LegacyPro L110 shelf life

Does anyone know if legacypro 110 will have a long shelf life like kodak hc-110? I want to get some for our darkroom for infrequent use (storing unmixed obviously).

I don't think these two developers are anywhere near the same makeup. I could be wrong since I have never used Legacy 110. John w

I had a bottle of L110 that was used over the course of 17 months. I did nothing special to protect it, other than replacing the top when I finished using it. The solution turned a darker brown, but I didn't notice any difference in its developing potential.

17 months may not be "long term", so I don't know how it would do after several years.

I've only ever used 1 bottle of L110 and I finished it within a year; didn't go bad during that time. No idea what it's max shelf life may be, but I doubt it would last anywhere near as long as HC-110. Due to the thick syrup liquid that HC-110 is, my guess is that it's base is TEA or some other glycol which seems to extend developer life; at least, with pyro staining type developers it does.

Good point. I ordered the kodak version.

HC-110 uses several glycols and ethanolamines in is composition. It is the total lack of water in the recipe that responsiple for its long life.

The two developers are different and do not have the same keep properties. Stick with HC-110.

I think you are missing a "lack". I expect you meant to say "It is the total lack of water in the recipe..."
