who here is a fan of lee friedlander? i love his work, and his composition made traditional photographers scream.

incidentally, he and i have the same birthday.

Huge fan. I have great respect for his work. A true master.

I was a huge fan until I saw what his taste in food is like.... Ok, I guess I can forgive him as he is one of my all-time favorite photographers. I learn something every time I look at his work.

Thanks Bill/David. Never saw that before. Made my lunch break.

I'm a big fan of LF, much of impetus to use an SWC, as well as my first enlarger being a D2V, comes from reading about his history

I was really shocked and surprised to be in the National Portrait Gallery (IIRC; we hit a few DC museums that day) around 2 years ago and come across some of his American flag photos (being overlooked by all passers-by). Very rarely have the chance to see his work in the original--totally made my month.

def. one of the greatest photographers to live in my opinion. the mr. lee video just makes it ten times better. lol

I too love his work. I have his book "Like a One Eyed Cat". Still look through it once in a while and still find new and interesting things.

Friedlander is one of the greats. As a birthday present a few years back, my wife took me to an exhibit of his in Cleveland. He did so much more than great street photography.

As an aside, his son Erik is an excellent cellist and composer. He's done a few solo cello albums -- very avant garde, yet very listenable and enjoyable.

Love that guy (and cheeze whiz)

i saw a collection of his work in the national portrait gallery in dc.

awesome stuff

L Freidlander was one of my hero's whilst studying phototgraphy at uni some years ago, a really inspiring photographer, just seen his latest book "America by Car', I didnt even know he was still shooting books!

One of my top one photographers. Hilarious shit. Winogrand, eat your heart out at the feet of the true master of street photographs, so sez I (even though I love ya too, Garry, may ya R.I.P.). I don't know anything about Mr. Friedlander except that he is still alive, nor do I really care. I just love looking at his pictures more than anyone else's.
