I participated in a few print exchanges with Lee. He always sent work of the highest standard. And took the time to provide helpful comments to all. As everyone has said just a great guy. RIP.

Couple of photos I had in my Texas Church Project files on my computer...

Thanks for posting those, Matt. Here's some more from my files:

(L to R) The Texas Church Project group while taping the Texas Country Reporter segment.
The TCP group at our first exhibition.
And 2 more of Lee's TCP images.

Lee and I had just exchanged messages as late as this Monday, planning to get together and visit a local gallery. He died Tuesday night. See you later, my friend.

Aw.... Man. This is very sad news. Lee seemed to be such a kind and supportive soul and I regret never having the chance to meet him face to face. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

Like everyone, I am very sorry to hear of Lee's passing. Although I never met him in person, I admired his postings on APUG, his work on the Texas Church Project, his helpfulness to us less knowledgeable, but mostly his wonderfully calm and dry humour. I've missed his postings in the last year or so, and am sad to hear we won't be getting any more. My condolences to his family, and RIP Lee.

Lee, you will be missed. When I needed photo help, you gave great advice. When I had health problems, you gave me encouragement...never mentioning your own health issues. A giving, kind, and helpful person. None better. I was a privilege knowing you.

My heart and sincere condolences go out to Lee's family and all his many friends saddened by Lee's departing.

He was a big part of my early days of photography, a mentor and dear friend whom I never met, but am always grateful for having found on APUG. We, the early days gang, had much fun in the old APUG chatroom together, into the wee hours of the morning. He also patiently waited whilst I would duck into the darkroom to follow his instructions, or I'd top up a glass of Merlot whilst he would let the dogs in and out.

Lee, you were one of the kindest, most encouraging, patient and helpful friends. Thank you for the memories. You will be sadly missed. xx

This is sad news indeed. I remember many of Lee's contributions here on APUG and the Texas Church Project, which I found so very inspiring.
Condolences to Lee's family.

Good Evening,

My computer was on the fritz back in late July/early August, so this is the first I heard about Lee. We once did a print exchange, and I met him in the chat room on various occasions. Very sorry to learn belatedly of his passing.

Mark--Thanks for reactivating this thread.

I'm really sorry to hear this and my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I'm new here but have been spending the last week or so reading everything on APUG about split contrast printing and other darkroom threads. Lee's posts were particularly helpful and I was looking forward to exchanging chat with him on this forum. I just want to say that because he was prolific and helpful and willing to share his experience here, it will still be here for others like myself to learn from.

Lee was a friend of mine since we met at the Fort Worth Camera Club way back around 1990 if memory serves. He had been to visit me when I lived in Page, AZ and agin when I moved to Tucson. I was fortunate enough to have purchased a print from him back around 1991. I have a couple of other images by Lee as well.

I thought I commented on his passing back in 2012 but that may have been somewhere else.

I am not sure if any of you are still active on this group. I am wondering if there is anywhere he sold images? One of mine was damaged in a storm at the end of July and I am trying to get an idea of value. I have good insurance.

Thanks, Steve
