Really not to sure what to call my question so I'll call it leather dust . I have a couple of leather lens cases and a camera case which are in very nice condition. Inside and out they look nice. The problem is the insides of them give off what I would call leather dust ? Is there a treatment of some kind I can spray or brush the inside of the cases with that would not effect the lens or camera? Here's a photo of one of the lens cases. 20220407_142609.jpg

I avoid leather at all cost! It is the perfect breeding medium for fungus, mold. Even if kept dry it will slowly grow mold. If you want to use leather, I would flood it with an antibacterial spray that might give a measure of protection just be sure to let it dry completely. Right now I have a nice real leather shoulder case that has that moldy smell to it, it will very likely go in the burn pit in the backyard, it is a shame but I will not expose my equipment to fungus, mold.
