I just acquired a new-old Minolta Hi Metic 7S and am beginning to shoot wit it. I do have a couple of questions that will help me with using my new-old camera. If you guys can help me explain some of these questions, I would greatly appreciate it.
My first question is concerning the built in light meter. I noticed that there are EV readings on the lens as you adjust both aperture and shutter speed and I also notice another EV meter when I look through the viewfinder.
How would I go about using these meters to properly capture correct exposure?
My second question is concerning the focusing. I've recently learned about zone focusing and have begun to practice this technique of focusing while capturing pictures. I wonder if there is a way to zone focus with this lens or if there is another alternative similar to zone focusing as this lens is fixed and has no DOF lines to tell me the min and max distance of in focus subjects.
Any insight on these two questions would be greatly appreciated as I have come across only a little bit of what I'm searching for.

Do you have a manual for your camera? If not you can download one for free from https://www.butkus.org/chinon/minolta.htm If you find it useful please donate $3 to that website to keep this treasured site afloat.

DOF table is on page 21. Usually these tables are for 4x6" prints. If making prints on 8x10" paper, I use two stops larger for each distance range. So, 30ft to infinity would be f4 instead of f2.
