A Minox 35GT about seventeen years ago, I'm a recovering G.A.S sufferer and like alcoholics we are never cured, and I'm often tempted, but so far have managed to resist.

Pentax MZ-5n as a Warranty replacement for an MX that they flubbed repairs on.

Pocket Wizard Multimax and PW receiver. Nikkor 85mm f/1,8

Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM. Wanted to go for the cheap and plastic f/1.8 first, but decided to get a good prime lens.

Bessa R3A. Great Build, great price, what more can I say. www.cameraquest.com is a great resource and Stephen really knows his stuff (not a plug, just a happy customer).

F3 with MD4 (2nd one). Another great camera that feels "just right" in my hand.

A bad side effect of GAS

My latest purchase was an absolutely mint MF-21 multi-function back for one of my three N8008s Nikons. I nailed this one on eBay for about $25, and it certainly looks like new. Works perfectly, too.

Now the sad part: I have three N8008s cameras and wanted an MF-21 for each of them. However, I already HAD three of the MF-21 backs, all working as new.

It's pretty darned sad when you stumble upon something you want so badly, then buy it, and find that you already own it.

Maybe if I used some of my favorite photo gear more often, I might actually remember just what I already own. That's one of the problems with having so many cameras, lenses, hoods, flashes, cases, filters, drives, winders, cables, straps, meters, Magic Lantern guides, rolls of film in the freezer, remote doohickeys, etc. And that involves hundreds of OEM items for Minolta MD, Canon FD, Nikon manual-focus and AF, Leica rangefinder, and Pentax K-mount and screwthread.

I have now sworn a solemnn oath on my boxes of equipment manuals that the next time I bid or plan to buy something, I will check my cabinets, shelves, bags, desks, boxes, drawers, etc., to make sure I don't already own it.

Need, of course, has nothing to do with it.

Anybody else ever have this happen to him/her?

A pair of Bessaflex SLRs. One silver, one black. It's great using a nice modern SLR with those tasty M42 lenses!

latest 35mm SLR

My latest 35mm SLR purchase was a Nikkormat without a working meter. I also shoot with a Nikon FM--Have been a Nikonian since DEC. '94.

Great to find a site dedicated to film shooters!

I'm pretty much at a standstill with the purchase of 35mm equipment.

Although I'm mostly a Nikon user, my last SLR was an Olympus OM1. I was able to buy it, together with 2 lenses and a ton of accessories from a guy that was going digital for all of $25.

My last rangefinder was a Leica M2 which I bought about 2 years ago.

My only P&S is an Olympus Stylus Epic (2 of them, actually). One was bought new for my wife and I have a refurb that I grabbed of ebay for $10.

Damn, couldn`t resist ang got a very nice condition 1978 F2 from Spain (body only), then the exaustive search for the prism, as I wanted to keep the weight down, need to be a DE-1, nice surprise, they were bloody expensive!
Well, ended up with a good condition eye level Nikon F prism from the USA, hmmmmmm, but still no nice lenses for it, here I go again, Bingo, a mint condition Nikkor Auto HC 50mm f/2 from a guy in Germany, nailed it, now I`m just waiting for all the parts to arrive to put together my "new" F2.

Cheers

André

A Rollei 35S with Sonnar 2:8 - 40 mm. BTW I didn't buy it! I got it from somebody who stopped with "traditional"-photography.... ha, ha... he will mis this baby at sometime.
