Nick Brandt for his African series including the latest - "Across the Ravaged Land"
Peter Turnley for his "love affair" with Paris
Ming Thein, especially for his B&W film work

Hi, I'm new here. I figured this is a good a thread as any to get started!
I've been a lurker in this great community for a couple of months. Such civil and constructive discussion.

South-African photographer Dawid Loubser has a knack for composing that just breaks my heart. You really should take a look, if this guy is not big in photography circles already, he is bound to be.

I also can't disagree with momus about the tried and trusted old classic, Edward Weston.
What I find most interesting about a thread like this, is how fundamentally people's taste and artistic vision differ.

While looking at the google search results for Jun Ahn's work that started this thread (and I agree, her work is startling and visually arresting, and certainly nerve-wracking for the viewer- what if she falls?) I came across this 17-year old German boy's photography - Dead Link Removed. Yes, some of his work involves photoshop, but it's tasteful and creative in the same vein as Maggie Taylor (Jerry Uelsmann's wife if you're not familiar with the name).

Edward Weston is my favourite no. 1 followed by the German photographer Robert Häusser and the Swedish Sune Jonsson . Unfortunately are all of them dead now.

Thank you for posting this. I noticed when this video finished that there were two more roughly 10 minute videos available on her work. This was especially enjoyable because a Vivian Maier exhibit has opened here in Cleveland, OH USA. Dead Link Removed
