Largest Chrysotype Ever Printed

40"x53", Texas Chrysotype formula: 24 ml 10% gold chloride and 36 ml 40% ammonium ferric ferrous oxalate (prepared with 28 drops 1% ascorbic acid -- vitamin C powder -- added to 40 ml of ammonium ferric oxalate). Original negative was 6.5"x8.5", Efke 100 cut down from 7x17. Drum scanned at 3200 DPI and printed at 400 DPI as a transparency by Bobby Valentine at Gicleeprint.net in Boulder, Colorado. Bobby really put his all into getting me a negative I liked.


The Alamo. Cleared in a 10' diagonal wading pool.

Not quite so, the dome on the state capitol building is taller than the one in Washington DC. Bitchin cool print though.

Mustafa, the hat allows me to focus on photography rather than the agony of the Texas sun scalping me like a Commanche warrior ... But a beard, a (big) hat and cargo pants are vital for communicating that one is a good photographer.
