Unfortunately I live 1 hour south of the Gold Coast :sad:

I wonder if there'reany cheap flights..

I'm interested, though I have never heard of the lecturer mentioned? :confused:

Hi Barrie. The link doesn't tell us anthing about David, so can you please give us a brief summary?
Thanks. :smile:

Come along to thursdays MCC talk & all your questions will be answered by David Roberts.

Greetings Kevin ;
I believe David has a 20" x 16" L/F camera as well as other 'Smaller ' units ; he is a full-time photographer who , I am told , recently camped out with his cameras in a tent in Alaska for a couple of months. As Scott said - Come along , it will be a good evening .
...............Cheers Barrie B. ( Black & White film forever ).

Actually, if he's the same David I'm thinking of, he's been to a Melbourne APUG get-together with one of his massive cameras.

That would take more than a little devotion with the bears wandering around.
It would nevertheless be great to see some of his ULF images of the Alaskan landscape, if he brings some with him! :tongue:

Kev, that is the fellow! Hopefully he will have some of his finished prints! I have a digi-image of it set up on the banks of the Yarra.

Nige.

Well, thanks for the invite Barrie, I have to say it was a great night, was fantastic to put some faces to a couple of the names on here too. It would have been great to see some of the prints he made on that trip, but losing his gear that soon in, man, I'm surprised he's in such good spirits about it! I took a month last year to head back to the Gammon Ranges, around the time that a couple locals recommended to me when I was there in April, promising me the clearest atmosphere I'd ever seen... that was right when that huge dust storm came up, that hazed the sky and blew a gale for the whole month... it took me a while to get over that disappointment, but trudging through all of that snow, knowing you wouldn't even be getting any shots, ouch!

unfortunately I missed this one as I have a cold and didn't want to come down and get everyone else sick! though I would have liked to have attended.
