And this is why I rarely regret using my blocklist.
There really are some rabidly stupid people on this site.

Thanks for the links Pdeeh. I enjoyed them.
you are most welcome.

This woman has been producing art for half a century. She deserves to be better known.

Anyone who considers her work 'abstract' hasn't looked at her body of work. But that rarely stops the expression of dismissal and contempt from what the delightful Mr. Nanian refers to (so aptly) as "the peanut gallery", whose interests seem to lie solely in joining a thread with the sole purpose of behaving like arseholes.

Photgrammer?
Photogrammatition?
Photogramulator?

Anyway.

This fabulous work just popped up in my Twitter feed from @womensart1

Trigger warning: If you think photography only counts if it has a 'proper subject' and has been done with zones, lenses and suchlike, I wouldn't bother clicking the links.

YES !!

thank you for this link.
i think using photography like she does
is fantastic

i wish i could afford to buy something, but i'd have to sell my house !

Ha! The moment I saw it I thought of you!

I do like the idea of leaving two kittens on a piece of photographic paper over a night, and then seeing what develops.
Thanks for the link.

I am pretty sure that everything has been done before. We are all trying to put new lipstick on a pig.

With my kittens, you’d end up with a lot of small pieces of shredded photographic paper.

thanks for the link; readers should follow the links in the gallery
quite an interesting roster of artists.
otherwise this thread sucks....save the infighting for your wife guys!!

For the last few years I’ve found myself drawn to work which is only possible with chemical photography. Her work is a good example. I’ve been attempting to do things which are dependent on the unique aspects of traditional chemical processes for a few years, so it’s always good to see the work of others working the same way.

I did some art like this more than once. I accidentally incorrectly exposed a sheet of paper and then spilled some developer on it and then threw it into the "discard" pile in my darkroom.
Little did I know that it was art.

I just took an "Alternative Process" class. I am NOT an artist, so it was a bit of a struggle for me.
One thing i learned is, like with your scenario, that the Art is not in "The Process".
For my final, that i did not spend Way Near Enough Time On, i did Chemigrams.....kind of a "Abstract" process.
The Art is in learning to (somewhat) Control/Manipulate the.......Cyan, Transfer, Tin, or whatever.
