I am looking to acquire a Komura Telemore 95 II 2x converter to attach to a Bronica S2. I actually saw it as a suggestion in a thread here in this forum, but the poster did not mention how to identify one. Komura made this 2x converter for various mounts. For instance, I often see one labeled 7 KMC For OM, which I assume is for Olympus Mount. What would it say for Bronica S Mount?

Ah ha! Thanks. I wonder if this is the only one made. That long "tail" that goes inside the body looks just like the lenses. Makes perfect sense. For some reason I wasn't expecting that. For the price, they can keep that one!

"I am looking to acquire a Komura Telemore 95 II 2x converter to attach to a Bronica S2"

That is exactly what what I offered you. Confused....
Why, yes... yes I am. I asked what they look like so I could identify one. I was given a link that showed one with a long shank that was labeled "Telemore 66 For Bronica S2 C2". Then I saw your link to one that looks a whole lot different. It is labeled "Telemore 95 K M C." Unconfuse me, please. I've seen the one you have before and wondered what K M C means. I could not identify it as fitting Bronica S2. And then there is 7 K M C? At $180+ US I am not interested, but would still like to know if there is a way to identify those made for Bronica other than looking at the mount end (which is not always shown). The most expensive Komura Telemore 2x in the long list of those available on eBay is $39 US. I don't need one if I can't find one for something around that price.

KMC could indicate a newer product, perhaps Komura Multi Coated?
The 7 could mean seven element?
Too bad the photos of the KMC model don't show the mount lock which would surely confirm it will work.
A seven-element multi-coated converter would be more desirable...

A 7 element teleconverter , I think not ! Peter
However the 2x converter for the Etr models is a 6 element unit.
Now to add to the fun , mention is made of 7 element 2x teleconverters
and I can't find any examples , anyone ?

My old Nikon-mount Tamron-F 2X AF 7MC converter is 7-element.
There a schematic of it on the box.

Camera-Wiki lists a

"Komura Telemore 95 KMC 2x Tele-converter for Bronica S2"

But no Telemore 95 II versions. The Focal Plane shutter range of Bronica's may have ended before the Telemore 95 II were introduced.

All the Telemore 95 II 's were 7KMC, so choilifan may be right - either 7-elements, or 7-layer MC.

KMC appears to be their multicoating label.

The Telemore 66 is an earlier version, probably optically different (simpler?)

Both auction links above appear to be Bronica S/EC mounts, they both have the same claws and locks.

I think the "For K" is for Pentax K mount, like "For OM" is for Olympus OM mount, and like "For N" is for Konica N Mount. A seller on eBay says K for Konica, but I don't think so. Another says N is for Nikon, but I don't think so. The K in KMC is probably for Komura Multi Coated. Then I see "For A-1" which uses the Canon FD mount and it blows the whole scenario. Lol.

When I acquired my used Pentax 67 system of body and lenses about 35 years ago, A Komura Telemore 2x converter was included. Perhaps I had a particularly bad example, but mine was a singularly bad optical pile of crap. (And I was trying it on telephoto lenses, not wide angles.) When I next sold stuff at a swap meet, I put it out with a "make offer" tag on it. Some poor bastard offered me $75 and I took it. I'm sure each of us thought he was robbing the other. At least I felt a liittle bad over it. My Point: Don't waste you money on a Telemore converter, I or II, single or mutli-coated. It's sucker bait.

Why wouldn't they scale it up for medium format?
How hard could that be for world-class Japanese opticians?

Lenses do not scale well, because glass is not often available with scaled refeactive indexes and dispersion properties. When you scale a lens design, you have to recalculate and optimize the design with the available glass.
Many of the better medium format 2x extenders were 6-element.

The typical prescription is scaled for 100 mm. Other focal lengths are obtained by scaling all dimensions -- surfaces' radii, elements' diamteters, elements' thicknesses, inter-element spacing -- proportionally. The glasses used don't change.

The latter non-CZ 2XE was also 7 element.

So, I take it that no one knows if Vivitar or Kenko or Zeiss or others made a 2x teleconverter for the early Bronica models S/S2/S2A.

Only ones I've seen are Komura Telemor.
According to Tony Hilton's Hove book there were two distinct models of Telemor 95.
The second one has KMC engraved before Komura and a finer grained leatherette.
