Hello guys.
Does anyone own a konica ft-1? So is anything supposed to happen when you put in batteries or is mine just broken? I placed batteries in and put it on ON but nothing seems to happen.

erm......you could check the terminals in the camera (that connect to the battery) are not corroded.

Look in the view finder and press the shutter release down half way. The red meter light should light up. If not try new batteries.

I've come across many FT-1s that are dead, even when having mint appearance.
It's a great camera when it's working but evidently there is a flaw in the electronics
that causes them to die. It may be a relatively simple fix -- I don't know.

Check the Konicaslr group on Yahoo. There was some recent discussion on this and links to some repair pictures showing likely causes and fixes. You might just get lucky. Weber Camera is the place to seek pro help on this if you decide to pursue....
