Konica Auto S2 shutter repair

This site appears not to be updating post when they are made but on server cycles as post 24 was not present when I made post 25.
That last blade should be under one and over the other like the other blades.
I was going to suggest starting at 6 o'clock and working counter clockwise.

Well, I managed to surprise even myself, and was able to re-assemble the shutter, the aperture, and put them back together, and everything appears to be working (including the self-timer)! I'm now working on reassembling the various lens parts, which turns out to be just as much of a challenge. I also realized that I have this piece on my work bench, and I have no idea where it could be coming from, which is never a good sign I've looked at all the reference photo/videos I took, and can't spot it anywhere.

I even found the repair manual for the S3 (which is very similar) and don't see this piece showing up anywhere...

That might be the dust-shield for the self-timer level-slot. The little notch in it would be for the self-timer lever, and the piece would slide between the shutter and the outside housing. But I don't know what the projection on that piece is for; perhaps that is the user's lever itself? Or maybe that's for the X-M flash-sync? It's probably for one of those.

You are absolutely correct! This fits right over the self-timer lever... the projection seem to be to prevent the piece from moving inside the "track" where it resides! I attached a picture of the piece in its right place in case it might be useful to someone trying to rebuild an Auto S2 in the future!

Well, I was able to put everything back together, and it looks like most things work! Unfortunately I think I messed something up when resoldering all the wires, because the lightmeter appears to be dead, but since it's also a fully manual camera, and all shutter speeds seem pretty accurate, I'll just use the good ol' Sunny 16 (or use my phone as a lightmeter). It's already much better than what I was hoping for when I started disassembling this thing!

I would go back and double check the soldering and ensure no shorts when assembled.

Thank you both! I was able to remove the pin and finally get the shutter and the aperture apart. While doing so I realized that one of the shutter blade's shim was missing; I was able to find it stuck between the two pieces that holds the aperture blades together, and unfortunately it was impossible to take it out of there without also taking apart the aperture... so I now have a LOT of blades (5 shutter blades, and 5 aperture blades) to try to put back in their right places, and I'm not quite sure I have the dexterity to do it judging by my first few attempts

hi silvertab, can you share on how you get the cocking pin extracted? i have same issue and trying to replace the broken cockiing pin with the spare one
