Hi all,

I am new in the large format world and bought a 4*5 toyo camera with a Komura 152 mm f3,5 lens.

I have found very little things about this lens.

Unfortunately, I didn't find anywhere its image circle. Does anybody here knows this data?

Thanks

There is a PDF Komura catalog on Seth's site at cameraeccentric.com. It lists your lens as covering 4x5, but I don't see a published circle size. It says the lens has five elements. An f2.8 version was also made, quite fast for a view camera lens.

... This image circle is at which aperture and focus position?
My Komura booklet gives the 175mm image circle at f16.
It does not mention the focus point. But this is usually given for infinity if I am not mistaken. Perhaps someone with more knowledge than me can verify this or not. Howard Tanger

Late reply; but the 175mm mentioned didn't sound right. Komura may have been even more conservative than Schneider with their data. Mine covers 5x7" (209mm) with good sharpness even wide open, but with no room for movements. There is also a misprint in the catalogue, unless I have a slightly different version: Filter thread on my copy is 72mm. Shutter is a Copal 1. One of my favourite lenses; the shallow DOF on the ground-glass and the overall rendering are something to behold!
