Hello,

I was given a box a 8x10 Kodalith Fine Art sheet film. There are no notches to indicate the side with the emulsion. How am I supposed to load the film in the film holders if I don't know which side is the emulsion side????

If you have a dark red safe light you can load by sight, the emulsion side is light colored and dull, back is dark and glossy.

Thanks for all the information. I haven't installed my ortho filters yet, so I sacrificed one sheet and licked the emulsion and Bingo!. Marked the side of the box with the emulsion facing the gg. As I load the film into the holders, I have a single notch punch and will make a notch in the habitual spot.

One question, and that regards the extreme thinness of the film. I remember somewhere that , in an 8x10 holder, the film would buckle/warp, and fall out of the film retaining groves.

Is the thinness of the film a cause for "alarm"?
