I got a bunch of rolls of Kodak microfilm and copy film awhile back, and finally got around to shooting them.

I developed both rolls today in dilute C-41 developer (only thing I had), under a red safelight, and the results are pretty good.

I exposed the Kodalith @ ISO 12 and the High Contrast Copy @ ISO 6.

The Kodalith negatives look great, but are a little low in contrast.

The high contrast copy is a bit contrasty, but I think that some of the frames are printable. I'll post prints when I get back up to school and have access to the darkroom again.

If you got low contrast from Kodalith, you've done something enviable. Folks are constantly asking how to tame the stuff.

Yes, mfobrien, that was the stuff you sold to me; I finally got around to using it.

I re-did the High Contrast Copy today, using Caffenol LC, at ISO 3 and ISO 6. The room was a little light-leaky, and I think that I overdid the safelight, but it came out good otherwise. The negatives have noticeable brown stain (well, what did i expect from coffee), and are fogged due to my handling practices ...

I was looking at the Kodalith today again; I'm really going to have to print them to tell exactly how good the contrast is, but its certainly useable. I'd say that they look about as contrasty as Tri-X at EI 1600 or 3200 in D-76; Id probably have to print them at a grade 2 or 2 1/2. I'll try that again in Caffenol LC; I bet it'll come out perfect.

And, mfobrien, do you have any more Kodalith that I could buy off of you?
