of course.. if Ilford or an European brand of film and camera + processing wants to play that's fine too.. I'm not fluent enough to talk about anyplace else (barelyfluent enough to talk about usa )

great idea !
indeed!

From FilmPhotographyProject:

And from their email blurb:
"Are they recyclable? The good news is YES. Kodak brand labs, TheDarkroom.com and most other labs collect and recycle single-use plastic cameras. Per TheDarkroom.com/Kodak Single Use Camera Recycling, Camera Recycling at WasteConnect.co.uk and many other sources, the recycling rate for these cameras is now more than 70 percent in the United States and about 60 percent worldwide."

Looks identical to the Kodak Colour single use, so extracting the film should work the same way. Just be careful to not take it apart too far if you don't know what you are doing, as the flash capacitor may hold a charge for months. a small door should slide or pry off to reveal the cassette. I always extract the film even if I am sending the film out for processing to save postge, (and sometimes reuse the battery in other things.)

A 30mm plastic doublet matches the FOV of the 'new' 28mm standard to which casual photographers will be accustomed, but I expect lots of 'bad' selfies with the 1m minimum distance. Fine for viewing as a thumbnail, but probably not an 8x10 candidate.

The DoF quoted in the video of 1m-∞ is achievable @ f/16 with a 2m fixed-focus; f/10 is probably a typo. The utility of a single-use, fixed-focus camera is hugely increased by the inclusion of a helicoid or retractable close-up lens that sets focus at 1m, giving acceptable a DoF from approximately 60cm (arm's length) to 2m.

Exposure is fixed at Ev 13 (1/125s, f16, 400 ISO) which is 'correct' metering outdoors in sunny shade or overcast daylight, without the GNm 32 flash. Using this camera in full sun would seem to prescribe a 2-stop pull in development or reversal processing. Being able to choose a push/pull and developer regime on a postage-paid camera would be pretty nifty.

Camera was No Doubt intended for Kodacolor MAX 800. which has more latitude - particularly for over exposure than Tri-x. I wonder if any parameters were changed for this version.
