K'ODAK?

Just developed my first roll of 400-2TMY. Unlike all the other Kodak film I've shot in the last couple years (400TX, P3200TMZ, 125PX, Portra 160, 400, 800, and Ektar) which has the K'ODAK edge markings, 400-2TMY has KO'DAK on it's edge. I'm just curious, but what does this signify?

Hard to say unless it was on old roll. The old symbols would make that a Canadian Made roll, but the Camera Heights plant was demolished a few years back . Anyone know if they have redefined the code?

Nope this was a new roll. TMY-2. Expires 7/2011.

I've just looked at the Kodak films I developed during the last two years:
- Tri-X 400 (400TX) - 120 only
- T-Max 400 (TMY-2) - 135, 120 and 4x5"
- T-Max P3200 (TMZ) - 135 only

All of them have Kodak written on their edges. No apostrophes. :confused:

It's a dot. A very small dot. I missed it the first time I looked.

OK, I've looked closer with a 7x loupe, and there's indeed a tiny dot on some films.
- 400TX in 120, TMY-2 in 120 and TMZ have an upper dot after the first K (looks somewhat like K'ODAK)
- TMY-2 in 135 has a lower dot after the O (looks like KO.DAK)
- TMY-2 in 4x5" has no dot whatsoever, not even a teensy-weensy dot. But, unlike all others, this one says "Kodak" instead of "KODAK".

You are right. I mistyped earlier. The dot is between the KO and the DAK, but it's on the bottom, not on the top. Like KO.DAK
