Hey,

I just received some old boxes of Agfa Atomal, since it's powder i suppose there's nothing wrong with the products.
I'm wondering, since i found no info on developing TMX with atomal, what results this would yield.
Does Anyone have any experience with this combo and what were the results(grain, sharpness, tonal range,...) ?

Agfa Atomal

I have several boxes of Atomal but I will not use them. They were packed in paper and foil type packets but the ones I tried were all bad. OWRO made a successor product to Atomal called A-49. I don't remember whether A-49 is a PPD developer or whether it uses a color developer agent. In any case it is a fine grain developer. I have some with the Calbe name and I find that the times shown on the plastic packet are a little short. Inside the plastic packet are separate Part A and Part B ingredients which look like they should have a decent shelf life before being opened. Any Atomal you find will be very old and probably not still good so run a test before trying it on anything important.

Oh bummer, I guess I'll have to try them out to see...
Anyhow some info on atomal would be great though, it seems to be a relatively old developer and I can't find too much about it
what can I expect from this developer ?
