Im wondering if some rolls of mid 50s Super XX will turn out if developed today? What are the chances to get a usable image off this film?

Secondly is there any film today that has the same curves and look as Super XX, other then maybe the grain size difference? I don't know if any film today has the same look or not. I still have a few sheets of 4x5 Super XX, but Im holding on to those until I get something good enough to shoot on them. I last used this film over 10 years ago, as its been frozen for years.

I had some great results from a roll of 828 format mid 1950s Super XX, to the point where I bought more; then never had any good results with that "more". Storage is probably a key factor. FWIW my good experience was Caffenol C-H for 15 minutes at 20C, after exposing at 80. You might want to try reducing dev temp and adding some antifog agent-- there was a thread on that in this category a few months back.

What ISO did you shoot your mid 50s film with? And when you had it developed- did you go for stock speed times or varied?
