I rode the Ektachrome rally for a day, sold, made $150. I'm now just about even from what I lost in 1 day. You high rollers can have all the fun.I bought 8 shares of Kodak yesterday and so far am up $1.66 on the deal! Dare I hold on any longer?

Meanwhile my oil stocks are treating me well.
I wouldn't put money into Kodak now. Not with the risk of bankruptcy looming and their continued inability to demonstrate adaptation to changing markets (except in film). This combined with poor customer service (except for the film-friendly Hollywood directors that they suck up to) tells me they haven't lost the corporate arrogance that doomed them in the 90s. It's sad, actually, that they don't understand their branding means very little today and needs to be rebuilt.
They had nothing to say. One said, "bankruptcy"
As work died down yesterday, I asked some of the younger kids in the lab where I work an interesting question. I asked, what pops into your mind when you hear the word Kodak? These were millennials. 5 out of the 6 drew a blank. They had nothing to say. One said, "bankruptcy".
As each year goes by, Kodak's brand becomes more worthless to the general public.
That's becasue most people use the word Polaroid as a term for instant photography in general and not as a brand name. And that in turn is becasue Polaroid was so effective at suppressing competition throughout their history. The same with Agfa.
But if one checked popular media over the last years one would have realized that the term Polaroid was more popular.
Every time I talk to anyone who isn’t into photography — finding someone who’s into film is a miracle — and mention I shoot film, they ask: “where do you get film now that Kodak went bankrupt?”
Mention Kodak to most adults and there is a delay before they speak since it take a while for their brain to find a Kodak reference in their brain. It is buried in long term storage beneath the cobwebs.
Yes, I think most of the times I get strange looks or uninformed remarks, I’m talking to people of my age (I’m 40). I haven’t talked to young people about film.
At least over here, technology has dominated all aspects of life. People in Brazil love technology, except for automatic transmissions in cars.
It's getting harder and harder to buy a manual gear box car here in the States. I've never owned a car with an automatic and god willing never will. I just bought a new car last month and thankfully, Ford offered a model that doesnt even have an auto as an option! (Focus ST).
I've been to Brazil 3 times, I love that every car I was in had a manual transmission. Americans need automatics so we can drink, eat, text and try to drive.except for automatic transmissions in cars.

One important word. Churrascaria. NOTHING in the US can compare.
