I have used thiocarbamide toner before with no problems, but in New Zealand outside Auckland, all I can find is the smelly type of sepia toner - Kodak Sepia Toner II (new type). The instructions say you should use Kodak hardener toning. Is this really necessary, and what problems are likely to occur if I don't use hardener?
