Sorry for more OT.
Have a look at QNX on embedded devices if you want to have some fun and earn money, SIL 3 and ASIL D certified, could be a much more widely known OS in the years ahead for this supposed revolution of IoT.
cmacd123, are you suggesting some OSes are the computer equivalent of a Holga? lol.
Again slightly more off topic, QNX is now owned by Blackberry who is marketing it for automotive applications. Another pivot for Blackberry, who apperenty did get their start making a Keycode reader for motion picture film for the National FIlm Board of Canada. hence the original name of "research in Motion" (pictures)
Linux is good as a server OS, and is a total constant failure as a consumer OS, which is why virus writers do not bother with it.
Wow! Linux and Ektachrome don't even have a single letter in common.

Slow night at the office?
Slow night (and days) and Kodak! I'm giving Ektachrome still film a 1 in 3 chance of release...ever. There. That should get us back on track.
Do you mean you do slow down day and
night at work ???
Well Ektachrome is out now but you're not allowed to buy Ektachrome yet.
So you have to wait a bit for a further while.
with regards
PS : And don't let your boss hear about.
Of course I slow down day and night at work! How else do I find time to write about whether or not Ektachrome will come back! I have no special knowledge of the inner workings of any of the Kodak companies. Therefore, I really don't when or ever Ektacrhome will be available again.
By the way, IMHO Ektachrome is not 'out' until it is for sale. And since I have nothing riding on it, I'll keep to my 1:3 odds that it will ever happen!
Wow you guys are so far off topic. Pages spent on computer stuff and not Ektachrome. Slow night at the office?
Unless you are more in the know (which is very possible), then your 10:1 is about as sound as my 3:1. With that said, I dearly want Ektacrhome to succeed. Heck, I want ALL film endeavors to succeed. A good roll (pun intended) out would go along way to helping the currently poor perception of Kodak (whichever one), even if it isn't a huge monetary success. I am hoping the delays really are supply oriented and that they didn't promise a product without really knowing if they could do it.Am I allowed to bet 10:1 against you?
What is the betting quote then ?
That's like high mathematics hmm ?
YOUR 1:3 is a relative high risc - better save your money for Ektachrome !
with regards

As I understand it, they built smaller machines that can more efficiently handle smaller production runs of film. If true, this would be exciting of course, because production could finally match demand. Maybe even Fuji is watching.
On the other hand, if Kodak botches this, then the press will absolutely eat them alive. Kodak can survive poor sales of this film. Even poor sales could still garner them public confidence. They can't survive a failure to bring Ektachrome to market. To my mind, I am not overstating this. The perception (along with their recent bungles) would be catastrophic. "Look!, Kodak can't even do film." I do hope they realize that they must be all in on a quality Ektachrome product, whether the sales are any good or not.
I was a kid living in Rochester, when my mother worked for Xerox as a chemist. Times change, markets change, and companies cease to exist, but the historical dignity of companies like Xerox and Kodak shouldn't be destroyed by present-day nincompoops. The companies of Rochester (and elsewhere) made the US and much of the world - for the better.
Kodak! Bring out this film!
(rant over, please return to regular programing.)
