Kodak Pro 400

I am looking at some old negatives of mine and have come across a film called Kodak Pro 400. Is this a precursor to Portra 400 or is it an entirely different film? These shots are from the mid to late '90s. When was this film discontinued?

Never used this film - there are a few out there (exp. date is 1999 or 2000). Intersting.....I seem to have used this film back in the 90s to shoot landscapes. An peculiar choice that I cannot recall much about. Much time has pass since those days long ago.

Pro 100 was successor to Vericolor HC, and Pro 400 was a faster version of Pro 100. Intended for lower, flat light it was high contrast and high color saturation. Similar color saturation to Pro 100, but higher contrast. I think a different film to Portra, as Vericolor HC was not a replacement for Vericolor III. I suspect the Pro 400 was closer to Gold 400 than Portra.

Note Pro 400 and Pro 400MC are different film.
