Hi everyone,
I wanted to make this toner based on the widely available and simple formula (7.5 g liver of sulphur + 2.5 g sodium carbonate in 1000 ml of water). I've found two forms of LOS; the traditional lump form and a long lasting LOS gel (made for jewelry and metal workers for creating patina). The lump form degrades quite rapidly and has a relatively short shelf life so I was wondering if anyone has any experience using the gel form which is formulated to extend its shelf life. The MSDS that I could find online did not specify the additional components of the gel aside from the main component (sulfurated potash aka liver of sulphur).
Regards
Adam

You need liver of sulfur. There may be things in the gel which would have an adverse effect on the print. It keeps reasonably well in a sealed glass container.
