Kodak Metallic paper

anyone know where i can find some metallic paper? or maybe someone has a box with a few sheets they want to get rid of?

any replies would be appreciated even if its to "HAHAHA i got some paper "

I never came across Kodak Metallic paper, in Europe Kentmere made Kentint on various plain coloured bases and also on Gold, Silver and light Green, Red & Blue metallic bases. PAL in Germany made a similar product this was coated for them by EFKE.

Back in the UK I still have a few sheets of the metallic baesed papers and a big40" Roll of a plain blueish based Kentint.

While I love this paper, this is too much! For that much you could buy a small roll and cut it down...

If you deparately need to print something onto a metallic base, and can't get photopaper, I believe that you can get metallic (or at least, silver or gold) inkjet paper?

The OP was asking about a Colour paper I've not seen in the UK.

I recall seeing it in Freesyle's catalog, but it's not on the web site now. B&H shows it in rolls as a special order item, and Calumet lists it.
I think the way to get a small amount might be to find an approachable lab using it, and see if they can cut a few sheets from one of their rolls. I have no idea how practical that woud be for the lab however.

I managed to snatch a partial box of 8x10 from an APUG member a while ago. It's an interesting paper, it looks as if the image has an internal metallic shine. I haven't experimented a lot with it, but if you want I could mail you a couple of sheets.

The OP was asking about colour analogue paper not inkjet paper - APUG is a traditional site not a digital site and he posted in the colour forum. A better suggestion would be to recommend the Fuji Crystal Metallic paper instead of any inkjet paper.

I use Metallic paper almost exclusively now, even for B&W, but I don't print myself.

As far as I know, the Fuji Pearl (metallic) paper is only available in rolls. I've used both the Fuji and Kodak and have to say that the Kodak version is FAR superior. It is on the Estar base, so it's nice and thick. It's probably the closest thing to Cibachrome for RA4. The Fuji version is ok, but it lacks the same "ooommpff" (to use a technical term).

Hmmm, I wonder if you can get sheets of the Fuji from Megaperls...?

In the UK you can only get it by the roll from minilab suppliers as far as I know. It seems fairly reasonably priced that way but even so, at around £100 - 150 for a roll it's not something I have felt the need to experiment with...

I realise that now....I had overlooked that the question was in the colour forum, and I apologise for my inattention. From the OP's request that someone might have a few sheets, I stupidly jumped to the conclusion that the he needed to print a photograph on metallic paper. (Silly me...)

Knowing that Kentmere discontinued their monochrome version quite some time ago (I've been in the business long enough to have used it in my own darkroom), I was trying to help by indicating an available option.

I am sorry, I will endeavour to make better suggestions in future.

Thanx everyone for the responces. Im taking a color class at santa monica college in california and i wanted to print my final in 11by14. I know you can buy the rolls and cut them yourself but im guessing thats going to cost alot of money and then i have wait a while for them to ship. i was just really for a Fast solution. :rolleyes:
