Considering a Kodak Ektar for 8x10 use. Prefer a high speed. Anybody got one they want to part with? Thanks

Must be lens. Do a SEARCH (TOP, RIGHT CORNER) for "KODAK EKTAR" discussions. There are LOTS of them.

Hi,
I have a 14 3/4 , 375mm f/6.3 Ilex Caltar for sale: 450 dollars. It is an Ektar design and is in excellent shape. The rear element has a very slight bloom that doesn't affect the image at all. If you are interested, you can either send me an email: 31416 @ comcast.net or call 508 487 8962. Thanks
Peter

Kodak's only 14" Ektar was an f/6.3. Same with the 12" focal length... the 10" Wide Field Ektar is also f/6.3.
Fine lenses, all of them, but not 'fast'.
I've used them all, on the job and in personal work. I've also used the 14-3/4 Ilex that cullah mentions above. An excellent, under-rated lens, sold through Calumet after EK gave up making large-format lenses.
I don't know what you'll find if you go looking for 8x10 lenses faster than that. The more modern plasma types are generally f/5.6, not much gained there. Best of luck!

I second MarkS’s comment on the Ilex/Calumet 14 3/4” lens. I bought one because of its reputation as an Ektar clone, it is my primary lens shooting 8x10. I picked up a 14” Ektar in barrel later, but have not used it- the Ilex is excellent
