It's universally agreed that the ubiquitous Kodak 2D is useful if not pretty. After WWI, the polished brass of the victorian age became colorless and everything became drab and black. Henry's Model T for example. The age of innocence and beauty was over, marred forever by the war and death. Modernism had come.
That's why this Kodak Improved #2 is so special. It spans that era. It was made pre-WWI and is still a thing of beauty, but it is identical to the later 2D's that made it into the 1950's. It came to me with some other things I kept, and since it was complete and un-harmed by the years, I splurged on a new bellows for it. Other than the bellows I had to effect a repair to the tripod block and rub rub rub with some lemon oil beezwax stuff and that's what you see.
I've used it for some shooting and it's a pleasure to use. Just 10 pounds without the extension rail and 11 with it. If you want to use classic glass (heavy) with some signature, this has the front standard that can tolerate 8 pound lenses. A 6 1/2" Packard can fit inside in the first bellow fold and then you're set for artistic work with barrel lenses. Check my web pages.
