It was good to hear that film has been profitable for that last year.

"Digital fatigue, yes I am tired of hearing about digital photography.

The quality and versatility of the remaining Kodak emulsions are better than ever. It's sad to hear that secondary components like backing paper have
encountered some chuckholes; but if so, this is still a minor or temporary problem compared to issues I've personally encountered with eastern Euro films, or way back when Kodachrome processing was surrendered to Kodalux and the slides routinely came back scratched. I mostly use Kodak sheet films anyway, but do also depend on them for 120 Ektar, which so far has no reported issues.

New slide film from Kodak would be very good and welcome news, for various reasons:

a) a sign that the tide is reversing, and film is coming back;
b) better commercial environment for Ferrania. Kodak, with its massive weight, would "revive" all the industry, especially laboratories beginning again being interested in E-6, E-6 chemistry production and distribution. That, in turn, would make easier for Ferrania to sell its film.
c) better pricing from Fujifilm which, at the moment, doesn't seem to suffer from competition and this is also reflected in their pricing.

Slide film is an endangered species in the red list. Let's hope the Kodak rumours become reality soon.
