SOLD! Thanks all.
After WWII had finished, Kodak got serious about providing what no one else was really positioned to do, and that was a lens for professional photographers that would work hand in hand with their Kodachrome, and that would be capable of making enlargements big enough to span walkways at airports.
These lenses are legendary, but not uncommon. At this point it's getting hard to find good ones that aren't all banged up. This 12" is the lens for a guy with an 8X10 that could spend a lifetime making images with a single lens.
Glass and coatings look incredible. Shutter speeds are spot on (to my ear). This is the quintessential 8X10 lens and one has to wonder how many guys got into this work with a camera that had one of these lenses and never needed anything else because this lens is so useful. I'll bet a bunch.
There was a discussion recently about coverage on 810 with these lenses and I put this very lens on an 11X14 camera and shot a sheet. Covers 11X13 but the corners are very nervous. You can see the image here. But that means on 8X10 the movements are generous and it is OH so sharp. Beautiful bokeh. That's why we love 'em. $SOLD
