only a $10.00 UPS shipping handling fee for international shipping, that can't be right!

If that stuff goes anywhere besides the scrapyard, it's going to China.

I'll tell you--seeing this is enough to make a grown man cry.

Unfortunately it's a $10 charge in addition to the UPS charge. I was going to buy one, but the extra $10 was just too much.

I hope Kodak had more than 18 of these:sad:

From reading the description, this isn't the film coating machine. This is the machine used to make the acetate base, which is later coated with emulsion.

Very sad indeed.

I'd say that's the end of the line. :D

Will they come with their own power cord, I wonder?

You guys don't even know what this is!

We drove by a similar one today that is set up on display (and has been for years) on Ridge Road.

Better find out what this is before you buy one!

:D

It says film coater line, although I initially had a hard time conceiving Kodak ever having 18 of them.

Terrible pics, and looks dirtier than I would have imagined as a Kodak machine. Printing presses and other textile machinery gets gunk all running down the sides looking nasty. I always imagined Kodak kept their machinery all fresh and pretty looking.

So which is it, PE - a line used to make acetate base, an emulsion coating line, or something else? Inquiring minds want to know, even if we don't have the $250K minimum bid.

It would be wild if this was one of the lines once used to make Kodachrome.

So, has anyone here clicked the Make Offer button? LOL.

I'd like to make a ridiculous 100$ offer but I'm afraid they'll accept it.

It's a manufacturing line for acetate film base--available now, since Kodak is now purchasing acetate film from outside sources.

If someone starts a Kickstarter to buy this, I'll be in for $50 in return for the first few packs of film.
Then should the 'stretch target' be to hire PE to run the damn thing?

Hire??

Can you say "barn cat?"

I imagine to goad PE into standing there running the machine, you'd better have a whip.
There's 18 of those machines, and dollars to doughnuts those 18 machines will end up being re-named the USS George W Bush.
No snide political quips please. It was just a joke.

This is correct. It has nothing to do with coating film emulsions.

It's still the first piece of the puzzle in the line. Once we all buy this one then all we need is a coater and a slitter/packager...

I saw this earlier and chuckled. I am amazed at this one. It is sad to me that they are taking these steps

A couple of customers to buy the film would be nice.

Exactly. I figure by the time we have this set up and running, the rest will be available.
