I have just been told by a reliable source that Kodak is in the process of closing ALL manufacturing in Canada. In fact there is no longer a Kodak rep in Nova Scotia.

Mark

I heard from the owner of the largest camera store here in cowtown that this is in fact true and he also mentioned that Kodak will drop TriX Professional as well in all formats. Not a good thing for those tied to the the yellow god.

Long live Ilford!

Lets see if Fuji steps up to the plate as well?

Some of the fellows I know would become mentally unstable without TXP.
I have an order in for Polymax C surface now for over 2 months with no response -yeah or nay
Eric, do you ever run into Craig Richards out there?

On the odd occasion, however one of our members Ken Miller hangs with him whenever he can.

Yesterday Kodak announced they were closing the Hogtown plant. That's the only plant they had left in Canada. On a different list it was mentioned they only made inkjet paper at that plant.

kind of weird that they will stop making trix-X pro, after having a more "modernized" facility do the coating, and bragging in this press release that
it is 50 years old and better than ever

eric, are you sure the camera store guy wasn't pulling your leg

but then again, stranger things have happened, like all the other black and white manufacturers go into receivership in the past year ...

I was sceptical too. But I have noticed that Kodak has been pushing the TMX films very hard as the solution to everything. Do they make TMX at the new facility too?

I got burned big time by Kodak about 25 years ago and I haven't used any of their stuff since. Well except for some Dektol just within the last month.

Yeah, it doesn't seem the least bit logical to pull TXP.

I haven't found any documentation to back up the rumor I heard.. let's hope it is just a bit of FUD being spread about (fear, uncertainity, doubt)

Cheers,
