Last evening I read in a BJP posting that the Lomochrome Purple film was actually a new production run of Kodak Aerochrome, which had been out of production for some time. This is something I want to see. An occasional (maybe smaller) run of the lower popularity films. They'd make a batch once per year or even every other year. Buy when available or you miss out. Understand that a certain amount of pre-orders might be required.
Without going into excited overdrive, one thing to keep in the back of your mind is that the Lomo folks seem to like slide films. I seriously doubt that we'd see a Kodachrome resurrection, but they might partner up and do a run of, say, E100G if it was financed by pre-orders and there was a reasonable hope of selling all of it.
Time will tell!

Are there any plans to bring back previously discontinued films? Again, it is key for all film lovers that there are no immediate changes planned to our portfolio of photographic films. That said, all decisions to discontinue films in the past were driven by changes in user preferences and or the digital substitution, resulting in the demand of these specific films dropping off a cliff which made it unsustainable to keep them unfortunately. All of these films were old emulsions. At the same time, we have continued to optimize many films in our portfolio and added innovative new ones, like the EKTAR 100.

I think this is great news. Lomo has been the smartest marketer in the photo world for the last 10 years. Say what you will about the products but they know how to sell. Good move.
