Kodak 8x10 glass oc filter

I have a 8x10 glass oc filter and have used it for years with no problems however a recent move has created some nicks on the surface. Holding it up to a bright light, I can't tell if the film on the front is the filter or is the glass the actual filter? I have not used it since the move and plan to do some printing this weekend. Does anyone know? I guess I could do a fog test but, thought I would ask this group if the nicks will hurt.

I have a round glass Kodak 1A red filter where some of the filter material has bubbled off, like it was subjected to excess heat. The filter is applied to the glass outside surface. A bit of black tape applied to the affected area solved the problem, though it did cut down the light output a little bit. Those 8x10 filters are really expensive. Patch it over and live with it if you can.

If it is just a few scratches on the front, and they do not show you light that is starkly different than the remainder of the filter, dont worry about it.
