Just purchased a Kodak 203mm lens for my crown Graphic and it's in a Kodak Supermatic shutter with a technika lens board. Anyone have a clue what the proper size hole lens-board I need for my speed graphic to fit the Supermatic shutter? thanks!

The Graphic Compur shutter Brian lists for the 203mm f7.7 Ektar is definitely a Compur #1, I have one (the UK made versions are on #0 shutters). I've mounted Supermatics on a Pacemaker board with a #1 hole with no problems, there's usually slight wiggle room.

I like the way Brian gives the reference the data comes from.. I've done that with my Developer database which I used to help Steve Anchell.

It reminds me I bought an unused Wollensak Alpax #4 shutter from a US seller it's a #1 it was cheap when I asked the seller why he'd called it a #4 - he said he'd listed Alpax 4 shutters and called them #1, #2. #3 and #4 he'd given no sizes.

Brian's site is great. Pity that its hard to navigate.

The Ektar 203mm came in a few shutter during it's lifetime including the Supermatic, the Flash Supermatic and the Graphic Synchro-Compur shutters. Hole sizes were different for each. Mine is in a Flash Supermatic. I simply enlarged the hole in a board with a Copal #1 size hole with a round file till it fit. Crude, but effective. Somewhere there's a data base of hole sizes for these (and other) shutters, but it's not really necessary if you can cut your own hole or modify a board you already have. Just measure your shutter.

Best,

Doremus
