OK, picked this nice lens at a estate sale a few weeks ago and am just getting around to looking it over. I find it strange that a f7.7 lens is mounted in a Compur Shutter that has a maximum aperture of f4.5.

Kludge? Crazy old photographer or is it an acceptable shutter for this lens?

Looks like a Graflex type lens board; probably a 5x7 Reflex Graphic?

It’s shutter broke and someone remounted it without knowing how to calibrate the apertre scale for the new lens. If the old shutter broke the lens could have also been damaged. Shoot and see.

Both wrong. The Supermatic EKCo mounted Rochester-made 203/7.7's in has threading that's not compatible with Compurs. EKCo also made the lenses in the UK and offered them in Epsilon and Compur shutters.

And, Bob was partly right. The cells were remounted. But that had to have been in an Epsilon or Compur originally.

So it's a UK lens set in a incorrectly calibrated, but thread compatible, German shutter.

I always wind up with the misfits...
