The owner of Kodacolor trademark is Eastman Kodak. Clearly, Kodak Alaris is out of this.

A quick search in the same page shows that Ektar, Ultramax, Tri-X, Gold and Ektachrome are trademarks owned also by Eastman Kodak. I didn't find any film trademarks owned by Kodak Alaris.

Kodak Alaris is the exclusive distributor of some photographic films, they own nothing.

I think this should also be the final nail in the coffin for the argument that Eastman putting the kibosh on motion picture film sales to stills photographers, was all due to Alaris.
Clearly, if Alaris had enough sway to make EK enforce stricter terms on motion picture film sales, they would have never let Eastman do this.

Respoolers being too much of a drain to EK and their then more limited production capacity, while presumably being seen as "leeches" by EK themselves, seems good enough of a reason for them to put a stop to it, even if individual photographers got caught in the crossfire.
And even then, it doesn't seem like this is being enforced all that strictly as new respoolers still pop up, like Filmriss just recently.

The big news that is slipping past is Eastman Kodak is selling stills directly to distributors and consumers for the first time in over a decade.

Alaris was sold a little while ago and maybe the new owners don't care much anymore.

I wish EK can still have the 4-digit number to specify the emulsion. Otherwise all these marketing names make it very confusing which actual film characteristics we should be expecting.

Private equity generally wants to squeeze as much out of their purchases as they can, so I doubt that.
And in any case, Ektachrome 100D had the crackdown before the buyout, and Vision3 after it.

As we are musing, I wonder if EK has bought back some of the licensing from KA.
Or perhaps they have worked out a deal to supply certain consumer products to the USA, leaving the rest of the line - including all Professional films - to KA.
I wonder who EK are using for distribution and customer support?
Perhaps KA, or Freestyle, maybe even CineStill, as they are providing their services for that to Photo Systems.
Unless they've done a lot of recent hiring, EK has little/no staff or infrastructure for that.

ColorPlus 200 has had "Kodacolor 200" branding on the 35mm cassette (though not the box) for a while now so it's likely the same as that.

Maybe Pro Image 100 and Color Plus 200

Most likely.

Eastman Kodak has a new trademark filed for Kodacolor May 30, 2025. ColorPlus 200 has Kodak Alaris on the box. Perhaps others more knowledgeable about recent Kodak events can make something from that.
