Kodachrome's exact date of introduction...

Hi everyone,

I am trying to help raise funds for my project by creating a Kodachrome calendar for next year, the 75th anniversary.

I am hoping to find some significant and fun Kodachrome related dates, but one I think I really need is the date of introduction in 1935.

Does anyone know what that is?

Well yes, Kodachrome was first introduced as 16mm movie film. Still film (35mm) and 8mm movie film followed in 1936.

November 1914. So an 100th anniversary 5 years from now.

But you probably mean Mannes and Godowsky's thingy, that also went under that name.
That product, borrowing the name from the earlier colour process, was formally announced (! it's not the day it went on sale first) on April 15, 1935. First available were 16 mm and (a bit later) 8 mm.
For stills photography it became available in september 1936, in both 35 mm and Bantam-format cartridges.

Thanks for the replies, looks like Tax Day 1935 is it!

The design is mostly done, we ship to the printer ( Brother in law ) at the end of the week. Price will be $15 plus shipping.
