New movie coming out in 2017, "Kodachrome."

"Set during the final days of the admired photo development system known as Kodachrome, a father and son hit the road in order to reach the Kansas photo lab before it closes its doors for good."

Shot in Canada, but Dwayne's photo in Parsons KS, which is not closing AFAIK, was I think, the last lab in the USA to process Kodachrome.

Why mail the film when you can drive there, eh?

Let me guess: they experience both fearful and spiritually gratifying moments on their journey. When they arrive at the photo lab, a mishap causes the entire roll to be exposed.

You read it here first.

Did you write the script!? I read somewhere that Ed Harris plays the father, who has some grave illness. Another actor whose name I didn't recognize plays his son, from whom he is estranged.

Ye gods! I though the that monster was finally killed and yet again it rises from the dead. Grab you wooden stakes, mallets, and silver based film bullets to kill the rising zombie!

Magenta is not a color. Delete Kodachrome threads for the sake of future generations!

My feelings exactly.

People should focus first on preventing the possible death of E6, by using the film and supporting Ferrania.

That is worth repeating!

People, it is a "road" movie! That is a theme that probably pre-dates the original Kodachrome!

As much as I loved the product, and still love the slides I and others took with it, the premise, to me, seems inadequate for a feature film.

If it does get finished, it will probably go straight to video - Beta, that is!

There is also one made by a group in Europe that includes interviews of former Kodak engineers who participated in the project! I've seen both.

I remember the end of Kodachrome. In late 2001, the Kodachrome lab in the UK announced that they would do one last processing run of 120-size Kodachrome. The word was spread informally, via email(?) and maybe announcements via Kodak. I took my remaining rolls to Corfu and Albania (which was still pretty funky in 2001) and exposed in a Rolleiflex. I just looked at them - the colors and detail are spectacular! I need to experiment if I can scan them in my Minolta Scan Multi scanner.

Why are people so stuffy about this? They are making a movie! It's entertainment! The fact that somewhere in there film is mentioned is a good thing. It may inspire young people to drop their selfie sticks and shoot film. How is that not a good thing?

I don't understand why either; supposedly it has something to do with magenta.

Maybe, like "Three Kings", they'll shoot the movie in Ektachrome...

Some folks don't want film photography to be a Hollywood thing, nobody want plebs to think they can shoot film...

note:just for the records, I'm being sarcastic.
