Kodachrome II and plus x in caffenol

So I've got an 828 plus x and two Kodacrhome II rolls that are to be developed in caffenol at some unknown date. Seeing how I have no experience with any other developer other than sprint and my friend who's going to try this with me has never used caffenol, I'd be wondering what any of you would have to say.
Also, Film Rescue has told me that caffenol is the best developer for these films, Greg just wouldn't give me any dev times.

Go for the old school teaspoon/tablespoon version of the recipe, and start off with 20 mins. Do a pre-wet water bath at 68ºF and then process the film. I'd process the plus x the same way ... **

Do you have a handle on the ingredients you will need? One of the biggest problems with Caffenol is people can't find the right ingredients so it screws things up. feel free to PM me if you have ?s

We are going to start off with a test roll first- my friend isn't 100% on his ingredients, so that's probably the necessary first step.
20 minutes does sound a bit excessive, but like I said I've only ever used one developer.

if you are going to be scanning the film and not contact printing them you might be able to cut the time by a few mins, not much though caffenol is kind of slow and deliberate, i think that is why the film rescue person suggested it, its foolproof in a way ( unless you didn't get the right ingredients ): The carbonate you can use super washing soda from your grocery store ( if you can't find it there, get baking soda and put it in your toaster R oven to evaporate the moisture from it ), and vit c ... is sometimes tricky. If you have a whole paycheck near you you can find it there in the supplements lane, better yet trader joe's same stuff cheeper $$ or everyone's favorite mail order .. the South American Jungle. Don't know what you will get when you develop the Kodachrome II but it probably won't be but one color, brown. You may get something "usable" with the plus-x. Now, prove me wrong......Regards!

Chrome film and c41 will not be color. sometimes there is an orange or yellow mask depending on the film, but if you use and you can usually scan the negatives and get an OK image if you twerk it in an editing program of ( just desaturating it ). A benefit of using Caffenol or any of its cousins is that it stains the negative funky tones so it masks the film's orange or yellow mask, and it is a slow acting low contrast developer so you can over process your film and still have fun. AND seeing K processing is doing the dirt nap there really aren't many options to develop the arcane film.
