Is anyone still using this stuff? I'm well aware that it's been long since discontinued and virtually impossible to DIY process..I uncovered 12, 36 exp rolls in our high school's darkroom... If we could sell it that would be great. I could then put what monies into film/paper purchases for my students... If no takers, then it's off to the bin...

You can develop as B&W. The rolls aren't worth all that much though. Don't throw it away though, I would use them to test cameras.

Yes, I'm well aware of that...I don't want to go through all the hastle... remjet removal, and all that...with kids. Thanks. I'll just put them in our display case for now.

I use stuff like that for letting students practice loading film onto reels.

I've made museum pieces out of the the 2-3 rolls I had left. Nostalgic to look at, a piece of history.

We have a very cool 2nd hand store in Iowa City, a college town, the store is called Artifacts, they sell all kinds of neat stuff on commission. I'm amazed at what people buy.If it's sealed in a brick all the better.
Take a photo, post it in classified. Or give a roll to your best student, and tell them, "this is the stuff of dreams!"

People do buy it. I've sold lots of it online though not for very much. Some process it as B&W and some just collect old film, I guess.

I saw on IG that the same person that processed Kodachrome is still working on the process

But of course, the last results were vary far from what Kodachrome was.

I remember Stephen Frizza succesfully got Kodachrome processed, which IIRC you can still find on a thread around here. Long story short, he has a lab and it was a huge effort.

I’m interested in your film stock, care to message me how much you’re asking for the lot? What’s the expiration date on this?

Ive processed Kodachrome as well and I can assure everyone reading that it’s a tall order to process that takes a lot of time, precision and extremely tight process control. It’s like E6 processing on steroids. Still working out the details and color balance, but Kelly-Shane (guy in the picture above) and I have worked together on this. Hopefully we will do a full write up on it once the project is completed. Here’s a sample of what we achieved.

Looks nice! How do you do the re-exposures of the film roll?

I find the homebrew Kodachrome processing to be a totally fascinating topic, but it seems that few details have been shared in the past several months. (Or am I just not looking?)

I also seem to recall somebody rescuing one of the last K-Lab or K-Line machines and trying to get it operational again. I haven't heard anything about that in well over a year, maybe two. (Or am I not looking?)

If memory serves me correctly, I believe Steve Frizza was charging around $200 a roll to develop Kodachrome and got scoffed at on this forum, so he retracted the offer for his service. Mind you, he was probably the only person in the world offering the service, so not a bad deal...

You have to have a timed red light in the right color spectrum for the red sensitive layer in which you then develop the cyan layer after and the. A blue light in the right color spectrum for the blue sensitive layer and then you develop yellow layer after. If you’ve exposed both red and blue layers to completion without contaminating the green layer (for magenta) and have developed cyan and yellow at the right amount of development time you then exposure the last layer, green sensitive to tons of full spectrum light and develop the magenta layer.

$200 is a bargain for something like this. You have a roll of film from the Nixon administration that Pops shot and it may have some historical shots on it you bet that someone will pay $200 to see it.

24 photos of Rover running around? No.

As I recall it, Mr. Frizza costed out what he would have to charge ($200) and then posted an enquiry asking for feedback about whether there were people out there who would be willing to pay that amount.
Essentially market research.
IIRC, there weren't many lining up to send him their film at that price.

Some are 1995, and I think some are (don't quote me on this... I don't have them in front of me at the moment) 1999. PM me with an offer if you like.
