I'd like to get a metered prism to take on trips to the zoo. KEH is advertising one with the notation "Battery not availible (sic)". Apart from the misspelling, does anyone know what that means? Is it like the once ubiqitous mercury cell where you just need to be creative? Or did this use some sort of two and a half ton, vodka powered communist battery that can never be reproduced?

Hello,
Do you have the meter already and just need the battery, or you wish to get the meter itself?

I happened to have both to let go. Let know if you are interested. I do have the extra batteries (Russian?), but it’s just alkaline type. Worked perfectly with the meter. I thought you may easily get the compatible ones elsewhere.

I got the finder and the red lights come on. It doesn't appear to be in the right spot, but apparently these are sent out uncalibrated.

The instructions I found show a spot mode and indicator. Mine does not appear to have this. Did they make these without the spot mode?

What do you mean by “ not in the right spot”? Do you mean it doesn’t give you the correct readings? If that is the case, there are three tiny screws on the side of the wheel, you can loosen them and rotate it to match the correct readings.

The instruction that you got was for the newer model with spot meter. Like the one shown on the right in the photo.

Cheers

Thanks for the update. Mine looks like the one on the left. Every one I've seen looks like the one on the left, so I assume it is the more common. I have little use for a spot finder, so this will work fine.

The instructions I saw explained that they were not factory calibrated and had to be user adjusted.
