I was so busy saving up for my Hasselblad kit, that I forgot all about this...

Just to add a data point. My Topcor 5.6/90 lens was spec'd with a 88.6mm flange distance. But I had to use the longer (+0.8mm) lens flange plus a 0.25mm shim. So roughly +1%.
