We all heard good reports about both companies. I like to add one positive experience with KEH.I ordered a Gossen ColorPro 3F last Sunday from them and it came today. It was rated LN- but as expected it was like new; not a scratch;not even at close inspection;functions perfectly too.I'm done with eBay;why bother?Between B&H and KEH, I get everything I needful fair prices and return policies. compared to that ,eBay is nothing but a gamble and a headache.

Made and received my first ever order from KEH last week. It was here quicker than I expected and the used items cleaner than they listed.

I have ordered quite a bit of used gear from KEH...they ship fast and IMO their ratings are very conservative. I've always been very pleased; guess that's why I keep buying from them!

I have been a very satisfied customer of B&H for many years. Never purchased from KEH. Nice to hear the positive report, will consider them going forward.

My vote for both sources from my personal dealings. KEH has always been a surprise on the pleasant side for what arrives.

+1

Ralph says it well. It is always a crap shoot with auctions. Both KEH and B&H are straightforward, honest, and relliable. That is worth a lot these days.

I am not fond of the labour practices of B&H but they seem to be getting better. BTW, I am not looking for a fight on that. Just voicing my two cents.

+ 1 for B&H and KEH, but will also say I've never had any issues with eBay all these years either. Both my MF & LF gear was all used items too. So I've been an extremely contented buyer to date.

Same here, I had good experience with both. One minor issue though with KEH but mostly due to the way they were set-up nothing to do with the quality of the products.
Some time ago KEH was stuck on shipping with one of the big courier companies - what a headache to get your item from those guys if you are not home when the arrive plus you pay a hefty handling to the courier. I emailed KEH and ask them to ship next time with USPS and they've been flexible. No problems since.

I just received a few days ago a Nikkor 50 f1.4 Non-Ai lens rated EX-that it was. Nary a scratch, ding-noting. Had it been in a box you'd be hard pressed to tell it from a new one. The glass was as new.

B&H? None finer.

I know...rah rah and all that. Just you wait until they screw up someone's order. Then the worm will turn. I do not support businesses that racially discriminate, but I DO support KEH. You're better off ordering on the phone though. Their website is the pits (and has been for a long time). If you must order online, think of it as a "mystery search" and you'll be OK.

You're saying B&H racially discriminates? Care to elaborate?

You can do a google search on "B&H discrimination lawsuit" and find lots of links. It has been ongoing dispute for some time.

I had no idea they were in any way affiliated with the federal government. Looks like it all started several years ago.

I've ordered a few things from KEH and had good luck. I have bought many things on ebay and have mostly had good luck.

I've done business with KEH a long time...since around 1992 and never had a problem. Ditto for B&H. These are my two primary sources of finding equipment I want/need and will continue to do so. When KEH indicates a given item as EX or EX+ you get a lens/camera or what have you nearly in new condition. I've gotten 6x7 lens from them in the past rated EX+ and they were as new not only cosmetically but the glass had zero faults. What more could you ask for?
