So this morning I was out in the new soon-to-be-finished darkroom...Yesterday I had installed the outlets, switches, track light and hung the Thomas up high. Hit the switch and a-ok.

I thought I'd check the track lighting, in which I installed three Compact flourescents, and see if there was any afterglow...

I turned out the lights after letting them warm up for several minutes and there it was, an image of my neighbors backyard, upside down and backasswards on my dry side wall from the 3" vent pipe stubbed out in wet side wall. Fuzzy, blurry, but man I thought "karma"...

Nothing new or magical...but definitely unexpected and told me (reinforced) I was doin' the right thing...that all these months of labor, 3 hours here, four hours there... to build this were all going to be more than worth it...

Now, If I could find a 3000 mm lens to mount in the wall I'd...

Never mind Galli, never mind...

It's too late, anyway, Matthew. You should have thought of this before you built on a solid foundation. Inserting a huge lazy-susan bearing to turn your darkroom into a giant walk-in Cirkut camera would be difficult now. ;-)

If only you could move the wall back and forth. Use some liquid light on the wall to make an impressionist phot of your neighbors yard. I hope they mowed!!

You knew about the phenomenon and were impressed. Just imagine the impact created when this was first discovered.

I've read articles in telescope magazines about building a camera obscura. If you place a lens in the opening of the proper focal length the image would be sharper. If the opening is 3" the circle of confusion for the image is 3".
