Actually, I don't really know.do you find any similarities with any other developer?
thanks
I am looking for some experience with these two, i have limited experience with both...
can anyone help or post photos?
I have never used Jerry's Caustic-Metol and was wondering if it has near the shelf life of Kalogen. What's the formula for Jerry's recipe? JohnWI've used both (not exactly Metolal but Jerry's Caustic-Metol) and there's not much to complain about either.
Here's one example of Kalogen: https://www.flickr.com/photos/79033393@N04/33352482638/in/
And one of Caustic-Metol: https://www.flickr.com/photos/79033393@N04/47554211011/in/
As you have all the required ingredients, just make 50ml of each and do some testing.

Could we extrapolate times from rodinal for these developers?
I don't mind a little grain, but I'm certainly not a grain worshiper. I think I'll stick with Kalogen when I make my next bottle. JohnWI only had experience with Metolal, it is a high pH (11.8) acutance developer that gave grainy results, too grainy for me.

I found Kalogen less grainy than Rodinal at 1+25 or 1+50. That's just my take on Rodinal vs Kalogen. I find Rodinal 1+100 semi-stand to be very nice grain wise, but streaking can be a problem so I gave up on it. JohnWKalogen being less grainy? Less than rodinal? Thanks!!!
