Should kallitype toning be accomplished under safe lights or is normal room light OK? I find it very difficult, if not impossible, to see any tonal shift if I try to tone under safe lift conditions.

I used a 60W tungsten bulb about a little over a metre above the print when I gold toned. It was pretty bright, and I saw no ill effects. I rarely tone these days. I'm liking the tones I can get with various developers.

Andrew - I have read that Kallitypes will fade with time thus they should be toned.

I like the like the tones I am getting with Sodium Citrate developer without any toning But I am concerned about fading.

Do you have any thoughts on this matter?
