Hello, The camera mentioned in the last last flea market camera has a Contax/Yashica lens. It now sports a Ugly 50mm F1.7 Planar from KEH. It was ordered after 4 on Friday, got an email on monday confirming the purchase and was delivered on Tuesday ! It has mild fungus on the back 3? optics. Some came off with cleaning, some didn't. This week it will get a roll of black and white thru it. I use to have a Pentax, 50mm F1. 1.2 with fungus and its negatives were fine. J:smile:

Keep the fungus seperated from all other lenses. A friend of mine infected all his healthy lenses with it, all for the dustbin ... :-(

Good luck

Not necessarily for the dust bin.

You would be surprised with how easily SOME fungus rubs off with a bit of household ammonia. Of course, you have to get INSIDE the lens if the fungus is on the inside. But some lenses are rather easy to dismantle, usually just unscrewing the front ring and then removing the screws. On some lenses, the rear element set's removal is even easier: simply unscrew the rear element ring with a pair of pliers. Do not force anything and, as I inferred, this method cannot be applied to all lenses. - David Lyga
