The constitution of lab service to E6 is very easy to handle by Kodak. In the worst case Kodak will build just one lab (with worldwide postal service) like in the old days.
with regards
PS: Thinking about Dwayne's
It'll be 100% in the near future ....with regards
PS: The remaing question is : What is the meaning of "near future" ? Short answer : just one decade
PPS : That's why Kodak's aproach to bring out the new Ektachrome is of this importance. (because it will longer the time of support on E6)
If we may have our focus on chemistry, lab support, and films also in regard of marketing (to create new demand to slide films).
Well - sure it is real nice to have a new E6 film (this special Ektachrome) but have you ever noticed the possible further effects?
Otherwise "near future" would have the real meaning of "near" (2 - 3 years). Because just one year after the very last E6 film will be sold out
the last lab will be closed and the last E6 chemistry will be sold out.
Bring back Ascochrome and Dynachrome [formally called Dynacolor] slides!
There have been other, previous Kodachrome threads that ran longer IIRC. It's a never-ending unconsummated love-fest. The turd that keeps on stinking.Given we are generally agreed that Kodachrome is never coming back so is a "dead horse", is this thread a record in terms of the number of posts that it has produced?

A sign of diminishing interest in Kodachrome? We have a lot of work to do then. This one isnt even at 1000.
And sign of diminishing interest in Kodachrome?
This weekend I had several large hedges pulled from the front of my house. Time to plant something new.

This weekend I put down 1 cubic yard of sharp rocks to keep feral cats from leaving stinking turds near my front door.
You know I feel like Kodak isn't present enough on the net, they have a facebook with lots of followers but they should be present on other platforms too.
For the moment their tweeter account is suspended, they have 2 post on Instagram and their Youtube channel is full of exciting videos about printers...
Showcase your films, make tutorials for beginners, do a podcast, tell us about Kodak history, present the Kodak moments of the week, that sort of thing.
I don't do Twitter (I have nothing to say that warrants a broadcast), so I can't comment on that. But Kodak is very active on Instagram. I don't know which account you've been looking at.
There is Kodak Alaris with its Kodak Professional account. But I don't see that much coming from there. But Kodaks account itself promotes anything analog film, whether motion, or still picture. They run stories about film photographers, their workshops, Kodak photowalks, interns at Kodak in Rochester, etc. For a while they also promoted that Cameraphone Kodak Ektra. So I guess it is really about the Brand in general.
While I'm not really a lover of marketing they probably do it somewhat right (if you consider younger people the target group), all that is missing is for this to somehow go viral and hence mainstream. Maybe if they could convince a Kardashian to wear a Kodak shirt and proclaim that (re)discovering Kodak gave meaning back to their life...

The problem is not the flux capacitor, but getting the sustained 1.21 gigawatts of energy in a cost-efficient and clean way, even worse considering that "nukular" energy is restricted by lots of laws.Kodak does not need a good cup of coffee, it needs a good flux capacitor.

I wonder if Kodak has considered the possibility to release a E-6 Kodachrome, some close enough tweaked Ektachrome in a classic looking canister? If there is a market for Ektachrome, surely there would be a market for this, or does a non-K-14 Kodachrome is a definite NO, somewhat of an insult to the purists ?
What you keep missing is that all the reasons of the past are applicable today, and that the evidence is strong against that ever changing in the future. Show otherwise with facts.
There is no market today, and no sign there will be in the future. Show otherwise with facts.
Your argument carries no weight as it is based on speculation. Show me someone who would revive Kodachrome based on such speculation in the face of all the problems that have been discussed.
Professional Kodachrome 25 was the last color film I used with any regularity. It was unlike any other and I got great satisfaction from the results it provided. In other words, I was as fond of Kodachrome as you appear to be....I don't think...
My answer: yes it would be an insult. Counter-productive. Reintroducing a legendary process so complex and so difficult to bring back is what would make Kodak stand out and generate awe and respect from the new film community.
You can call my thinking speculation, I call it logic. As time goes by, the public Kodachrome mindset fades further and further into oblivion. You still have not shown any reason why this will not be so in the future. Therefore, logically, any chance of a of revival of this obsolete film becomes less and less as time goes by, and any thoughts of a revival are just wishful thinking. That is the case with you.Glad we finally narrowed down our disagreement to this point: "... all the reasons of the past are applicable today, and that the evidence is strong against that ever changing in the future." I don't agree with that particular speculation of yours. I don't think the mind set of the potential customers is the same as the mindset of the customers of the past, times have changed. And the absence of evidence of a future change cannot validate the statement that change will never occur.
What color is the sky in your world?Reintroducing a legendary process so complex and so difficult to bring back is what would make Kodak stand out and generate awe and respect from the new film community.

While I am a realist and able to recognize that Kodachrome is a thing of history, you seem to permit your passion to prevent you from analyzing logically. The portion of your post #919 I quoted says it all. You refuse to use reason. Good luck.

Wet collodion photography public mindset had faded into oblivion long ago when it suddenly became tendy to shoot wet plates. Why don't you show me the evidence that lead to this come back? You still have not shown any reason why Kodachrome cannot become trendy in the same manner that wet collodion process has. So your thinking is just as speculative as mine. That's a fact.
