Yes it is. Efke 100 is Adox CHS 100.

I use XTOL 1+1 for 10mins, as I did for this photo:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Prints without a hitch on G2.5 Ilford MGIV.

Hello,
No, it's not the same emulsion !
Fotkemika has added an hardener in the formula . It's why the speed from this film is something like 50 and not 100 ;-)

Really? Where did you get that?

News to me, I have always exposed Adox 100 at 100ISO with no problems.

Bill

Where do you find this information about Adox CHS100 being a 50 ISO emulsion?...
I've tested it and I assure you that, with Ilford ID-11, is a 100 ISO emulsion. Obviously, depending of the developer used, speed can change, but it's commonly accepted that the standard developer for determining ISO speed of films is Kodak D76 or its Ilford equivalent ID-11.

There used to be a Fotokemika website but it seems to have disappeared. They definitely said on that they recommended the use of a hardener so it doesn't seem likely that a hardener would suddenly be incorporated into this film. Also I must admit its news to me that such a step would reduce the film speed. Far from being a ISO 50 speed film, it can easily be used at ISO 200 and the repackaged rollfilm version for the Jessops photo stores used to be labelled as ISO 200. When I used the Efke film a lot in the 1980's I used to rate it at ISO 160 which was fine. The Adox CHS films are just rebadged versions of the Efke films for a particular distributor.
